Porcine Pursuits

Pig Out (with us) as chef Richard Hauptman guides you through a one day workshop where you learn the art of processing a pig, home curing and sausage making.

Pork Products

These one day workshops will run in the heart of Healesville in 2013 from April until July and are suitable for everyone who loves pork. This is a hands on demonstration and participants learn to break down a pig and make their own sausages, bacon, proscuitto and more.

Arrive for breakfast of Large Black bacon (what else!) and eggs at 9am and leave at 5pm with recipes and samples of your work during the day armed with all the knowledge you will need to make your own at home. Lunch consists of delicious Large Black pork with seasonal produce and local wine.

Your Chef de Jour will be Richard Hauptman from Hand Made In Healesville fame, a Chef's Hat Awarded chef recognised by the Age Good Food Guide. Richard is a passionate supporter of our work at Eastwind Farm and shares with us the principles of ethical eating, wasting nothing and thus respecting our pigs. Richard has worked with Christine's Large Black Pigs for over ten years and knows the product inside and out (pun intended)!
